To plan and manage the outcomes of renovation and construction projects for Texas Children's and to assist departments in developing estimates and budgets for proposed construction projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Leads project management process through pre-design, funding, design, pricing/purchasing, construction, occupancy and close out steps.
•   Develops project scope based on customer needs consistent with standards and objectives of hospital.
•   Develops project budget utilizing departmental tools to assist customers in identifying and obtaining funding.
•   Procures external resources to assist with project scope design.
•   Develops project schedule utilizing departmental tools to outline and communicate project timeline to project team.
•   Manages internal and external resources to help plan, design, and document project design in accordance with customer needs, facility standards and regulatory requirements.
•   Manages with internal resources and external vendors to procure services and products (e.g., construction, equipment, furniture, graphics, artwork, cabling) as defined by project scope and budget to meet project schedule.
•   Oversees and manages construction in accordance with Interim Life Safety Measures, Infection Control, and other regulatory requirements. Coordinates construction and related activities to remain on schedule.
•   Manages building utility outages with appropriate personnel (internal and external) and affected departments as required to meet project construction demands.
•   Continually reviews project progress against approved scope, budget and schedule and regularly reports status to project team and leadership.
•   Manages internal and external resources to help plan and schedule activities related to occupying project area.
•   Leads collaborative resource team to prepare project area for customer occupancy.
•   Oversees and manages customer move. Verifies with customer that the intended project scope was met and documents outstanding issues requiring resolution.
•   Processes final payments, closes project budget and ensures that all project documentation is distributed to the appropriate departments.
•   Manages internal and external relationships through effective communication.
•   Leads and participates in a collaborative team environment to achieve the best outcomes.
•   Demonstrates a high-quality work ethic by exhibiting professional attitude, honesty, and integrity.
 

Skills & Requirements


•   Required bachelor's degree
•   Preferred bachelor's degree in design, architecture, construction, or project management
•   Required 3 years' experience managing projects in the design and/or construction industries 
•   Preferred project experience in healthcare
