We’re hunting for a Director of Pharmacy Services, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will be responsible for the overall operation and quality of pharmacy services including the administrative, clinical, distributive, and technical activities of the department. You will also oversee and ensure an effective and safe medication use process and provide patient care in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-Adult).

Job Duties & Responsibilities
•   Develop leadership skills and provides development opportunities for staff to grow professionally through coaching. Educate regarding goals, commitments and TCH system needs
•   Hold regularly scheduled meetings with administrative team to address all aspects of pharmacy operation and to share initiatives at hospital and departmental levels and other issues and ideas
•   Work with the pharmacy administrative team to ensure appropriate educational opportunities for their teams are developed and performed
•   Provide direction on the growth of pharmacy services and ensure success of education plan
•   Ensure ongoing initiatives with respect to review and improvement in the medication use processes. Develop a plan for performance improvement and continual review and modification of the plan as necessary
•   Actively participate in hospital-wide initiatives to provide support, direction, and input to contribute to the success of new processes/programs
•   Ensure the ongoing, systematic review of the medication use process to identify opportunities for improvement to assure a safe and effective process is in place to minimize medication errors
•   Review medication incident reports, adverse drug reaction reports, and pharmacist intervention and identify opportunities for improvement
•   Participate in and oversee the development of pharmacy services within the system
•   Work with risk management to ensure legal issues are met
•   Complete timely performance appraisals for direct reports
•   Assure that new staff attends hospital and departmental orientation within 30 days of employment

Skills & Requirements
•   Required Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy; Pharm D. preferred
•   Required RPH – Pharmacist license authorized by Texas State Board of Pharmacy
•   Required at least 5 years pharmacy experience
•   Required at least 3 years supervisory experience
