Effectively direct the operation, maintenance and repair functions at assigned Texas Children's facilities including personnel management and development, financial and procurement services, as well as oversight of energy management and conservation programs and regulatory compliance.  Lead and oversee efficient and cost-effective facilities operations across the Texas Children's system for all assigned locations.  Provide leadership, direction and support to the continued development of system-wide facilities operations strategic initiatives.  Lead and oversee the development of business plans for planned improvements, as well as investigate potential programs and initiatives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Provide support to senior leadership in setting the strategic and financial direction for the Facilities Operations Engineering business unit.
•   Lead critical quantitative and qualitative analysis to project the financial impact of operational decisions on service models. This will involve building financial models and proformas, obtaining and manipulating data, and preparing summaries and presentations for the executive team.
•   Oversee strategy setting and initiative prioritization to tactical initiative management and delivery.
•   Plan, lead and direct other types of strategic and/or financial analysis as directed by the AVP and SVP of Facilities Services.
•   Provide oversight of the Energy Management program and associated conservation measures. Ensure all key processes are aligned with the goals and objectives of Texas Children's Hospital.
•   Manage the regulatory compliance functions at all locations ensuring all key processes are aligned with the goals and objectives of Texas Children's Hospital.
•   Manage the Facilities Engineering, Plant Operations & Maintenance, and Building Maintenance Program functions at all assigned locations ensuring all key processes are aligned with the goals and objectives of Texas Children's Hospital.
•   Manage the preventive/corrective maintenance functions at all assigned locations ensuring all key processes are aligned with the goals and objectives of Texas Children's Hospital.
•   Provide outstanding customer service, develop strong relationships with executives, directors, and all other leadership positions across the organization, identify and resolve problems quickly and appropriately, and ensure communication is maximized.  
•   Develop and grow the competencies of the Engineering management team through team development, implementation, and support of the specific training for the various responsibilities.  
 

Skills & Requirements


•   Required bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
•   Preferred master's degree in business administration, Healthcare, or related field
•   Preferred CHFM - Cert-Cert HC Facility Mgr. The American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE)
•   Required 5 years' experience in progressive leadership in facilities management
•   Preferred 5 years' experience in a strategic and/or financial planning environment of a large healthcare organization
