We’re hunting for a Maintenance Technician II, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will perform demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to cover all trades including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic tube, painting, carpentry and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environments.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
•   Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on multiple systems and equipment to ensure a safe environment and operational reliability according to standards established by management team. Performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs to facilities to provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Performs repairs to failed equipment according to established standards and within acceptable timeframes. Provides notification of equipment shutdowns to appropriate leadership, departmental personnel, and Service Response Center Operators. Maintains documentation to accurately record equipment problems and failures, including work order completeness. Log on and update information in the computer-based maintenance system. Reports major failures and equipment malfunctions to Manager. Assists with, oversees and/or inspects repairs or modifications performed by contractors. Demonstrates ability to perform basic power and hand tool skill sets. Demonstrates basic firefighting equipment use: R.A.C.E. fundamentals. Fire extinguishers. P.A.S.S. fundamentals 
•   Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving maintenance duties for multiple systems and equipment according to standards established by management team. Demonstrates troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
•   Responsibility C: Demonstrate technical knowledge depth on multiple pieces of equipment and associated systems according to standards established by management team. Demonstrates knowledge of different types of lubes, oils and grease and their application. Demonstrates knowledge and uses of different types of fasteners, nails, screws, etc. Identifies different specific tools and applications. Demonstrates knowledge of various system components and functionality such as: Steam trap, Control valve, Thermostat, Pressure Reducing Valves (steam and water) Contactors, coils and relays used in basic motor control circuits. 
•   Demonstrates work product meets the expected criteria. Demonstrates work quality consistently meets the customers’ needs. Demonstrates work quality consistently meets all applicable code requirements. Demonstrates work quality consistently creates a safe environment. Ensures re-work percentage due to negligence is consistently less than 4%. 
•   Demonstrate accountability for customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic and teamwork. Ensures good rapport and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers. Complete activities in a way that maximizes task effectiveness and minimizes customer impact. Meets minimum hospital policy-defined requirements for attendance and tardiness. Demonstrates respect for others. Inspires positive attitude. Adheres to an approved departmental dress code and maintains a professional appearance. Participates in all hospital and departmental training as required by leadership. Performs other duties as needed for the hospital within expectations established by management. 
•   Demonstrate accountability for effective communication skills. Ensures effective communication as demonstrated by maintaining good rapport and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers. Demonstrates effective, thorough verbal and written communication with customers and co-workers. Provides complete documentation as required by management and for authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) specifically including but not limited to work order documentation. Responds promptly and appropriately to all forms of Hospital communications including but not limited to pagers, radios, telephone, e-mail messages, verbal, and written communications. Follows departmental communication plan to ensure accurate understanding and appropriate response to information related to job performance and employee expectations. Participates in all hospital and departmental training as required by leadership. Performs other duties as needed for the hospital within expectations established by management. 
•   Demonstrate accountability for management skill sets. Demonstrates ability to work alone most of the time. Demonstrates self-awareness of own knowledge and experience level. Performs other duties as needed for the hospital within expectations established by management.


Skills & Requirements
•   Required H.S. Diploma or equivalent
•   Required 2 years' experience as a general maintenance service-related technician with preferred hospital experience
