We’re searching for a Radiologist Assistant -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide a broad range of radiology health care services under radiologists' supervision in a way appropriate for patients' age. The Radiologist Assistant is a critical thinker who uses technical knowledge to assist educational, quality, and regulatory efforts within the Department of Radiology. As an RA, the individual must be independently proficient in all technology and procedures in the sections of Radiography and Fluoroscopy.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Performs Patient Care and Clinical Education Functions.
• Protocol procedures and coordinate patient care by communicating with technologists, nurses, referring providers, and radiologists.
• Performs routine, portable, STAT, urgent, on-call, and intraoperative cases by applying principles of interventional radiology and/or fluoroscopy in each study to advance the knowledge of resident/fellow trainees under the direct supervision of a licensed Radiologist.
• Administers intravascular medications or contrast media and topical/local anesthetics under the direct supervision of a licensed Radiologist and to provide appropriate written documentation in the patient’s medical record.
• Accurately performs procedures; identifies and resolves issues; seeks experiences and knowledge in the technical area to gain expertise.
• Electronically captures preliminary findings for attending Radiologist review and interpretation.
• Assists in the training of radiography and interventional radiology staff in the absence of the Radiology Technologist Educator.
• Communicates developmentally age-appropriately as outlined in the Plan of Patient Care manual.
• Maintains confidentiality of passwords/codes for all information systems and patient information, as observed by the supervising Radiologists.
• Consistently displays a professional demeanor as observed by guests, staff, or the supervising radiologists.
• Communicates research findings to other health care professionals as observed by evaluation of written/oral reports.
Skills & Requirements
• Required Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program
• Required Licenses/Certifications:
o ARRT - ARRT RegTech Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT),
o MRA - Medical Radiologist Assistant by the Texas Medical Board
o ACLS - Cert-Adv Cardiac LS ACLS by the American Heart Association, required
o RPA - Radiology Practitioner Asst.Certification by the Board of Radiology Practitioner Assistants (CBRPA) or
o RRA - Registered Radiology Assistant by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
