We are searching for a Director of Well-Being Services -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will develop and promote well-being strategies with an integrated approach to effectively lead the Wellness team, Medical Clinic, Employee Assistance, and Workforce Chaplains (EAP) in support of Texas Children's people, business, and well-being strategies.  Delivers and encourages compassionate, proactive, quality-driven, innovative programs and a culture that supports employee engagement, high performance, and business success.

Qualifications

  • Required bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Nursing, Business, Public Health, Health Education, or other health related field required
  • Preferred master's degree in nursing, Business or Employee Health related field 
  • Required 8 years of health and workplace well-being experience 
  • Required 5 years of Management/leadership experience specific to health care and/or well-being

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Executive of Workforce Well-Being and in collaboration with the Director of Benefits and other Texas Children’s stakeholders, directs holistic, integrated, “upstream,” cross-professional well-being strategies that address the needs of employees across the full spectrum of well-being to equip the Texas Children’s workforce team members with necessary life skills and services to be their best selves within a strong culture of care, within the values and mission of Texas Children’s Hospital. Coordinate communication strategies to maximize engagement and participation in an outcomes-led approach
  • Provides strategic direction to the Well-Being team – Wellness, Medical Clinic, and the Employee Assistance and Workforce Chaplains (EAP). Develops and implements meaningful strategies, philosophies, processes, and procedures to ensure market competitiveness and cost-effectiveness. Develops goals and objectives, establishes priorities, and continually reviews establishes, and implements policies and procedures for responsible department operations. Reviews department performance, initiates change as needed to improve service, enhance efficiencies, and assure compliance with all regulatory requirements, programs, and initiatives
  • In conjunction with the Executive of Workforce Well-Being, develops best and emerging practices, approaches, strategies, policies, services, and programs related to system delivery of well-being across the spectrum of care from promotion to the treatment of physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and professional health and well-being. Assists in the design and marketing of fun, effective, accessible innovative wellness programs, communication, and services that encourage employees to participate in all aspects of services provided at Texas Children’s, within HR, and in other areas
  • In conjunction with the Director of Employee Health and other stakeholders develops approaches, strategies, policies, and programs related to on-site services including primary care services, disease management, patient education, physical therapy, and all other medically related services. Develops metrics to measure the program’s success. Assists in the design of innovative benefit programs which encourage employees to participate in all aspects of services provided. Evaluates performance and program effectiveness.
  • Facilitates, participates, and collaborates in interdepartmental teams and committees to ensure Texas Children’s operations, programs, etc. are integrated and aligned with the Texas Children’s strategic plan and values. Ensures work is compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.
