We’re searching for a Manager of Therapy, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas and among the best in the nation. In this position, you’ll direct, manage, and coordinate the Therapy department’s daily inpatient and/or outpatient operations related to the provision of therapy services and provide clinical direction to therapists, technicians, and students.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages Therapy Department daily operations to ensure efficiency, compliance and accuracy while maintaining optimum levels of patient and family satisfaction. Reviews processes to identify gaps between requirements and current outputs; identifies “possibilities” via benchmarking or other external comparisons. Generates ideas for solutions; analyzes the effect or impact of each solution; and selects appropriate solutions.
  • Coordinates clinical training and mentoring for licensed and non-licensed staff based on identified individual and department needs and organizational requirements. Collaborates with Manager of Clinical Research and Education Special Projects Coordinator to develop ongoing educational opportunities for staff.
  • Staff scheduling/productivity: Monitors staffing requirements and productivity levels by establishing staffing guidelines based on patient needs and budgetary guidelines; oversee annual capital and operating budgets and monitor financial performance and billing.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards (JC, CARF, OSHA, and ADA)
  • Completes audits using organizational electronic databases, identifies problems and opportunities for improvement, analyzes options, selects and implements effective improvements. Collaborates with other departments to identify and resolve issues related to Therapy departmental operations when necessary.
  • Manages human resources through hiring, developing and coaching competent staff and investigating/resolving all employee, patient and physician complaints and concerns.
  • Organizes orientation for new employees and student interns and ensures that new employee/student orientation procedures are completed.
  • Facilitates professional development of direct reports for optimal contribution towards organizational and departmental priorities and goals. Analyzes performance and shares timely, specific, and constructive feedback.

Skills & Requirements
 

  • Bachelor's degree in physical therapy, Occupational Therapy required
  • Master's degree in physical therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy preferred
  • Required licenses/certifications:
    • OT - Occupational Therapist by the State of Texas or
    • PT - Physical Therapist by the State of Texas
  • 8 years of health care experience required preferably sports medicine focused 
  • 2 years of Leadership/Management experience in healthcare preferred
