We're searching for a Vice President of Public Affairs, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll lead and elevate our system-wide communications efforts and ultimately build awareness and positive perception of the organization internally, with key stakeholders and on the local/state/national and global stage. You’ll oversee all aspects of internal communications, external communications, executive communications, crisis communications, media relations, public relations, and social media, ensuring alignment with our mission, values, and strategic priorities. Additionally, this executive will serve as a key advisor to the C-Suite regarding strategic communications and issues management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an integrated public affairs strategy that supports the company’s mission and enterprise-wide goals
  • Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership on high-impact communication issues, positioning, and messaging
  • Lead all internal communications efforts to inform, engage, and inspire employees across a diverse and growing organization.
  • Direct external communications, including media relations, public affairs campaigns, digital content, and corporate messaging.
  • Guide crisis communication plans and real-time response strategies that protect and uphold the company’s reputation
  • Develop and lead comprehensive executive communications strategy that will elevate the organization through strategic leadership profile building  
  • Develop and lead omnichannel social media strategy to drive awareness, stakeholder engagement while ensuring brand consistency and proactive storytelling
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Public Affairs team with a collaborative, results-driven culture
  • Partner with key executives across functions and within the clinical and research enterprise
  • Advance our reputation as a national leader in pediatric and women’s healthcare through strategic thought leadership, media engagement, and community positioning
  • Monitor public sentiment and emerging issues; develop and execute proactive strategies to mitigate reputational risks 
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related field required (Master’s preferred)
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in public affairs, communications, or related roles within large, complex organizations required
  • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in building and implementing enterprise-wide communications strategies with measurable impact
  • Experience leading through crises and sensitive public issues with integrity, empathy, and precision
  • Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams and executive leadership
