We are searching for Orthopedic Technician - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you will provide excellent customer service and assist the patient care team by providing casting and medical assistance to the licensed providers for patient’s scheduled clinic visits. Lastly, you will provide operational assistance, ensuring and coordinating the intake and rooming of patients to effectively manage the patient visit cycle time.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- A minimum of one year of experience doing basic casting, splinting, and hardware maintenance is required
- Some college is preferred
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Ability to do basic casting, splinting, and hardware maintenance
- Must have knowledge of development stages in pediatric patients, nursing/medical assistant patient care tasks, the managed care industry, related medical terminology and customer service concepts
Responsibilities:
- Provides casting assistance to all members of the orthopedic and sports medicine team
- Promotes customer service, patient safety, communication, and interaction in the clinic
- Initiates and supports patient flow in the clinic by screening patient’s and placing them in an exam room
- Identifies abnormal vital signs and reports to the clinic RN, MD, NP or PA.
- Receives page/notification of patient’s arrival and ready to room status from tracking system
- Prioritizes patients to be roomed based on appointment and arrival times and other clinic protocol
- Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing
- Uses the appointment scheduling system to review and prepare for the next day’s clinic volume
- Stocks rooms daily with necessary clinical supplies, forms, and office supplies. Discards expired stock
- Labels all opened supplies appropriately with received date, date opened, and expiration date
