We’re searching for an Assistant Director of Quality, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position you will oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of quality and safety initiatives, and maintain accreditation and infection prevention standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Provides formal leadership to staff and informal leadership to the Medical Staff, Hospital Leadership and others by contributing to and maintaining continuity in the planning, development and implementation of the quality and safety program.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with staff, medical staff, and hospital leadership to ensure excellence in the performance improvement, patient safety, and outcomes management programs as evidenced by improved outcomes, decreased preventable harm and advancement in the organizations culture of safety. Sustains and advances accreditation programs as evidenced by trend identification and regulatory agency reports of compliance.
  • Collaborate with clinical and quality leaders to identify and address quality, safety, accreditation, or infection prevention concerns. Creates and facilitates collaboration and cooperation among diverse groups, people, and professional disciplines to achieve the desired results in improving patient care and safety. Supports and ensures alignment with departmental leadership. Communicates effectively with staff and leaders.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to quality and safety metrics and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Demonstrates project management skills as evidenced by the utilization of appropriate methodology, analysis, and facilitation skills. Submits monthly report indicating progress on all departmental projects.
  • Actively commits to the on-going development of self and department staff to achieve professional goals. Coaches, develops and manages staff to assure continual refinement and development of new skills related to performance improvement, safety and leadership, including teaching courses to advance quality and safety. Coaches staff when appropriate to improve performance.
  • Demonstrates project management skills as evidenced by the utilization of appropriate methodology, analysis and facilitation skills. Provides support and oversight for team projects. Communicates team progress and opportunities to leader on a regular basis.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing (BSN)* and a master's degree Nursing, Business, or healthcare related field required
  • A bachelor's degree in a non-Nursing field is acceptable only when the incumbent has a master's degree in nursing. Incumbents must have bachelor's and master's Degree, and one of these must be in Nursing.
  • RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact required
  • 5 years Clinical, quality, education, performance improvement, and/or data analytics experience and 3 years Management/Leadership experience required
