We are seeking a Physical Therapist with a passion for working with Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) patients in a fast-paced, specialized clinical setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to adolescents through adulthood with complex cardiac conditions, supporting functional recovery, endurance, and long-term wellness.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and reassessments for ACHD patients in accordance with hospital and departmental standards
  • Develop and implement individualized, cardiac-focused treatment plans to optimize mobility, strength, and cardiopulmonary endurance
  • Provide therapy services within outpatient clinics and specialty ACHD programs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiology, nursing, etc.) to support continuity of care
  • Serve as a mentor and clinical resource to less experienced staff within the specialty area
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record in alignment with organizational guidelines
  • Act as a clinical instructor for at least one professional student annually
  • Identify and communicate safety concerns, patient risks, and unusual clinical situations to leadership
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and outcomes tracking specific to cardiac rehabilitation and ACHD populations

 

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physical Therapy required
  • PT certification from the state of Texas required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred
  • 2 years clinical experience OR 1-year accredited residency experience preferred
