We are searching for a Pathology Team Leader— someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist the department with the coordination, planning, monitoring, and performance of specimen collection, order entry, processing, and other computer and clerical functions in Pathology.

Qualifications:
- S. Diploma or GED Required
- Associate degree in Related Field Preferred
- 3 Years of Experience in a clinical laboratory as a Phlebotomist or Processing Technician and Computer/Order Entry Experience Required
- Previous Supervisory Experience Preferred
- PBT – ASCP Cert Preferred
Responsibilities:
- Investigate, research, trouble-shoot and reconcile errors and discrepancies in phlebotomy, computer order entry and specimen processing
- Consistently demonstrate competent knowledge, stress management and rational judgment in analyzing and solving problems
- Direct workload and workflow and assign work stations efficiently so that stat, timed and routine collections are completed within established turnaround time as per policy
- Conduct, direct or assist in any special projects, evaluations and experiments as needed
- Monitor orders to ensure that all outpatients’ faxes, physician prescriptions/order pads, and requisitions have all required information including patient’s diagnosis, attending physician, clinic location and telephone number
- Communicate with physicians and nursing staff if problems arise
- Investigate and resolve Quest service and specimen problems
- Maintain and update the Quest catalogs for specimen requirements and processing procedures
- Assist Manager in ensuring that patients and families are treated with courtesy, respect, empathy and that the CR&P staff at all times performs in a professional manner
- Collect and reviews performance metrics (audit) data for the order entry lines
