Texas Children’s Hospital has an opening for Programmer/Analyst, Lead position in Houston, TX. 

 

Duties Include:

 

  1. Operational lead for Technical support team
  2. First point of escalation for team members regarding technical issues and questions
  3. Provide input to manager on team member performance for performance management
  4. Deliver feedback to team members on technical and application support areas
  5. Review staffing and provides input to managers on staff coverage
  6. Schedule and leads regular team meetings
  7. Review support incidents, Implement and control the configuration and development of systems
    1. Daily review of support incidents and assignment to team members
    2. Develop and administer the system configuration and development plan
    3. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members
    4. Perform independent programming for segments of complex problems according to the technical specifications and standard system implementation techniques
    5. Analyze system performance and optimizes programs accordingly
    6. Provide configuration, tuning, and upgrades to systems as needed
    7. Initiate and implement new programming techniques, methods, procedures, and standards
    8. Escalate priority incidents to manager
  8. Coordinate change order and project activity
  9. Work with manager to prioritize change orders and document requirements for normal change orders and projects
  10. Assist manager with prioritizing the change order list for various governance groups
  11. Work with team and assign change orders and projects to team members
  12. Provide requested status reports for change orders and projects
  13. Manage non-PMO projects, develop scope, create project plans, communicate status, follow standard project management methods
  14. Work with PMO project managers as primary contact for technical analysis and design efforts. Assist project managers in resourcing project tasks to team members
  15. Document support processes and educate Support staff, Service Desk, and customers.
  16. Ensure that the team prepares technical and process documentation for support staff.
  17. For all application functionality, have team prepare knowledge articles for end users, IS Servicer Desk and Customer Support staff.
  18. Schedule training sessions with support team, Customer Support, and Service Desk as needed
  19. Proactively work towards process improvement in an effort to increase the level and quality of customer service
  20. Update application and end user workflows and maintain systems
    1. Control system operations by finding and correcting errors in the system
    2. Implement modifications to the system to accommodate new or changing requirements
    3. Provide emergency support for malfunctioning systems
    4. Ensure that workflows supported by the team are documented and available in the QC application
    5. Review workflows on a regular basis with business owners, subject matter experts, and training staff
    6. Assure that proper workflows are referred in test activities
    7. Has team update workflows as needed to be comprehensive and accurate of current business processes.
  21. Coordinate activities and information dissemination with manager

    1. Coordinate development and maintenance programming activities with management, users, vendors, other personnel
    2. Participate in meetings concerning user consulting, systems analysis, system design, and vendor contracts
    3. Serve as Information Services department rep in meetings with other Integrated Delivery System components in developing data processing solutions designed to solve practical IDS problems

    d. Ensure that workflows are documented in the QC application

    e. Review workflows on a regular basis with owners, SMEs, and staff

  22. Participate in strategic planning and Hospital-wide data planning
    1. Participate in the development of a minimum of data set for information systems
    2. Participate in the development of a data dictionary for usage with implementation efforts
    3. Provide expert consultation for strategic planning in data flow and analysis
    4. Provide support for compliance to Joint Commission Information Management standard

       

Requirements: Employer will accept a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, computer technology or business information management and 60 months of experience in job offered or in a related role. Position requires monthly travel in-state. Experience must include:

  1. 60 months of experience in major system design and implementation.
  2. 36 months of experience with Oracle Integration Cloud.
  3. 36 months of experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud.
  4. 36 months of experience with SQL.
