We are searching for a Staff Pharmacist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. Additionally, you perform the duties of a registered pharmacist. All responsibilities will be performed in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult).

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitor, manage, and communicate medication shortages and backorders
  • Oversee Omnicell/ADC inventory management, evaluating usage trends to optimize PAR levels, executing floor stock additions or deletions, and ensuring accurate medication placement
  • Maintain, and present weekly inventory database reports and metrics grids
  • Add, validate, and troubleshoot new National Drug Codes (NDCs) and scan codes within the pharmacy carousel, Omnicell
  • Assist with the complete lifecycle of controlled substances inventory, including receiving orders, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and medication waste.
  • Support automated medication tray processing systems (e.g., Kit Check/KTB), fulfilling kit-related requests, and performing daily quality assurance checks
  • Identify and implement inventory cost-saving initiatives
  • Execute VAMS formulary additions and deletions
  • Coordinate the prompt removal and quarantine of expired, recalled, or damaged medications
  • Support implementation of projects and programs
  • Maintain and manage hazardous drug databases.
  • Other tasks assigned by leader(s)

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy required
  • RPH certification from the state of Texas required
  • 2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred
