We’re searching for a Nurse Data Collection Specialist - Transplant Services, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will be responsible for the collection and reporting of patient and unit data that will promote alignment and clinical integration within the department. The data provided will ensure a comprehensive system of care to optimize strategic and operational coordination, improve outcomes for ill children and enhance the most efficient, safe, and timely utilization of resources.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates data entry, analysis and reporting as part of the comprehensive performance improvement process.
  • Completes all data collection and data entry carefully and accurately per the database requirements for the highest level of data quality and integrity.
  • Maintains Excel database to ensure that all the department's admissions are accurately captured with data collection.
  • Successfully completes all data training and certification requirements for data collection, data entry and validation.
  • Participates in quarterly inter reliability exercise.
  • Notifies the site coordinator of any issues related to potential data errors or inaccuracy.
  • Participate in internal quality checks.
  • Participates in the development of new project proposals.
  • Continues with professional development opportunities.

Skills & Requirements

  • Required Bachelor's Degree in nursing Or associate degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or an associate degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license Or Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN. Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
  • Required RN - Lic-Registered Nurses Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
  • Required 2 years Clinical experience in a pediatric special care or equivalent unit
