We are searching for a Senior Volunteer Coordinator.  Someone to coordinate and help supervise the activities of volunteers, including high profile volunteers and special group visitors. Also leads new staff and intern trainings for Volunteer Services department, and ensures Joint Commission readiness, where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 4 years' experience of general supervisory or volunteer coordinator experience required
  • 1 year experience supervising volunteers (volunteer supervisory experience may overlap with actual experience counted for the requirement) required.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree may be substituted for above experience requirement on a year for year basis for the 4 year experience requirement only. Education cannot be substituted for the 1 year requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Places general and high-profile volunteers in appropriate positions according to established procedures set forth by Hospital and departmental policies and procedures and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Ensures the satisfaction of volunteers and hospital staff, and provides guidance to colleagues related to complex issues
  • Performs essential administrative functions.
  • Responsible for assisting in training new Volunteer Services staff.
  • Responsible for collaborating with leadership to update and maintain volunteer services department policies and procedures and ensure Joint Commission readiness
  • Reporting, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for communicating program updates and information to volunteer database as needed.
  • Represents the department on necessary and appropriate committees such as members at large and junior council
