We are searching for an Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Specialist – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll provide ECMO support in an age appropriate manner for patients ranging from neonates to adults.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with the Texas Medical Board is required
  • 2 years of neonatal or pediatric critical care experience required

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform direct patient care by implementing, operating, and managing ECMO/VAD systems
  • Set up support systems according to case preferences and age appropriateness
  • Complete the pre-pump checklist prior to the start of the ECMO
  • Manage the ECMO/VAD circuit and diagnose complications and extracorporeal physiology
  • Ensure that the pump team’s supplies and equipment are available
  • Complete quality control and quality assurance for all analyzers
  • Serve as an educator and mentor
  • Keep abreast of new developments and technologies in critical care and ECMO
