We are searching for a Director of Behavioral Health Programs – someone who works well in a fast paced setting. In this position you will develop and oversee a comprehensive Behavioral Health population health strategy to include care management and utilization management in order to improve the health and wellness of members, including psychosocial, environmental, and financial barriers. Define population health initiatives and create a structured, scalable approach to building, prioritizing, and monitoring behavioral health programs. Identify opportunities for financial savings, drive quality improvements, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a behavioral health program and maintain a population health strategy for the behavioral health population
- Help create and maintain a health plan-wide behavioral health program that addresses behavioral health strategy and population health issues such as mental health and substance abuse disorders.
- Develop approaches, policies and programs that are based on Texas Children’s goals and objectives and that meet the Health Plan's performance goals
- Ensure the delivery of cost effective, community-based and culturally sensitive behavioral health programs including continuous quality improvement monitoring. Collaborate to ensure member outcomes that address our values of quality, service and cost effectiveness.
- Support Behavioral Health Program staff and collaborate with the Director of Care Coordination and others within the Health Plan
Skills and requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Or Master's Degree Social Work required
Licenses and Certifications - RN - Lic-Registered Nurses Texas Board or Nursing Or
- LCSW - Lic Clinical Social Worker Texas Behavioral Health Ex Counc (TBHEC) Or
- LMSW - Licensed Master Social Worker Texas Behavioral Health Ex Counc (TBHEC)
Experience - 3 years Program development and implementation experience required
- 5 years Supervisory/formal leadership experience required
- 3 years Managed care experience required
- 7 years Behavioral health experience required
