We are searching for a Formula Room Lead -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting and is detail oriented. In this position, you will ensure the daily oversight of safe storage, preparation, and delivery of milk products to hospitalized infants and children through daily quality audits on critical processes and safety processes, oversight of team schedules and inventory management.

Qualifications:


Required H.S. Diploma or GED 
4 years of experience preparing infant/child feedings in a hospital setting required. 

Responsibilities:

Completes employee schedules, maintains attendance records and manages overtime. Coordinates employee schedule and assignments; adjusts workload of team as needed. Manages part time hours and overtime to maintain equity for employees. Maintains accurate employee attendance records. Manages resource allocations to prevent or minimize overtime per budget requirements. 
Monitors inventory levels of formula, equipment, and consumable supplies. Maintain established par levels of products and supplies used in formula production by placing orders using system requisitioning process. Communicates with clinical nutrition and supply chain managers when supply shortages are anticipated. Ensure that formula room property sent to central sterilization are tracked using central sterilization’s documentation process. Discrepancies are escalated to management. 
Collect and report data for formula activities. Maintain and monitor charge capture reports to ensure all charges being entered for services provided. Maintain preparation records and daily productivity logs. 
Assist with employee recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing development. Assist with interview and hiring process with manager and HR recruiter. Provide orientation of new staff to formula room, serve as primary preceptor and coordinate orientation schedule. Assists manager in identifying ongoing learning needs and completing annual competencies for all formula room technicians. Provides manager with quality and performance data to be used with formula tech annual performance evaluations. 
Oversees quality and safety regulations and compliance. Provides direct input with manager regarding quality and safety processes and guidelines for department. Enforces correct safety procedures and reports concerns/trends to manager when issues are not resolved. Participates in the review/update of formula room policies, procedures, and workflows. Monitors compliance of all employees with quality and safety guidelines and implements corrective action as needed. Provides manager with quality and performance data to be used with formula tech annual performance evaluations. Prepares monthly report on quality control, department activity, training/in services, and meetings for department leadership.
