We’re hunting for a Manager of Bio-Medical Engineering, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will manage the preventive maintenance, repair, projects, and other functions of a section within the department. Participates in committee meetings and meets with clinical managers in other departments to discuss equipment issues, ensuring that the medical equipment serviced by the section is available for safe and efficient patient use.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
•    Reviews status reports regarding equipment repair and preventive maintenance.
•    Sets and monitors PM schedules and work prioritizations for sections.
•    Approves all work orders completed.
•    Meets with clinical management to discuss equipment issues.
•    Completed improvement projects to streamline section.
•    Ensure the equipment program within the section meets all regulatory standards.
•    Project Involvement: Manages projects by obtaining quotes, placing orders, organizing materials and resources, and keeping track of labor. Ensures projects are completed on time and on budget. 
•    Performs pre-purchase evaluations of medical equipment.
•    Reviews and Develops RFP: Develops specification for RFP in written report form or as a condition of sale document.
•    Cost Center Tracking: Continually reviewing weekly reports, tracking labor and materials expense reducing credits, and reporting on same to the Assistant Director.
•    Training: Provides training, skills and competencies building, and development for the technical staff through attendance at manufacturer’s training schools, training schools brought in house, and other formal or informal lectures and sessions.
•    Prepares monthly report updates: Reviews all work assigned to the section by performing spot checks on equipment service reports, surveying workspaces and client department areas, and reviewing computer reports, meetings, and data analysis. Strives to achieve the goal of accreditation through the following:
•    Ensures that Joint Commission requirements specific to your department are fulfilled but also understands the linkage between your department’s requirements and those of the integrated delivery system.
•    Collaborates with colleagues in other departments to ensure all Joint Commission requirements are met.

Skills & Requirements
•    Required H.S. Diploma or GED
•    Preferred bachelor's degree Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology
•    Required 14 years Biomedical Engineering field
•    Bachelor’s degree will substitute four (4) years of work experience
•    Master’s degree will substitute for two (2) years of work experience
