We are searching for an Advanced Quality Specialist – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will work as part of the Quality & Outcomes Management (Q&OM) Team to achieve high-quality, cost-effective health care throughout the Texas Children's Hospital System and maintain the necessary accreditation status for the organization (JCAHO, HCFA, NCQA, and other agencies, as needed). 

Skills & Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, Pharmacy, Social Sciences (Social Work), Respiratory Therapy, Health Information Management, or Business Administration
  • 3 clinical and/or quality experience
  • Licenses/Certifications:  Preferred CPHQ - Cert-Cert Prof Healthcare Qual Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and RN - Lic-Registered Nurses Texas Board of Nursing 
  • Bedside experience in women's health highly preferred 

Job Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Assists in the coordination of System-wide quality improvements.
  • Produces reports for quality improvement, guidelines, utilization, and outcomes, error-free and on time
  • Educates medical staff departments, administrative staff, and ancillary service departments regarding the tools of performance improvement, methods for measurement, analysis, and reporting to meet the standards of the JCAHO, HCFA, NCQA or other regulatory agencies
  • Provides medical staff and departmental staff teams with consulting and analysis services to support initiatives intended to achieve a breakthrough or incremental process improvement in patient care, as measured by at least one improvement, worthy of storyboard, per area of responsibility per year
  • Produces guidelines and measures for medical management in a timely, efficient manner
  • Provides guidelines, measures, and definitions to the data management staff, on time with an accurate definition
  • Provides opportunities and strategies for improvement of System entities and services as evidenced by at least two (2) improvements resulting from recommendations made
  • Educates peers, staff, physicians and others on quality improvement initiatives and processes.
  • Participates in and coordinates medical staff/hospital performance improvement activities.
  • Independently Facilitates House wide teams aimed at improving performance.
  • Coordinates external reporting, benchmarking, and participation in National Performance Improvement Initiatives.
