We are searching for a Nurse Coordinator — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will support excellence in clinical practice and the care of patients in accordance with their developmental stages. You will coordinate the daily operations of the service by assisting the physicians, promoting the development of other nurse professionals, demonstrating clinical expertise and implementation of the Department's philosophy and standards of nursing practice. You will also be responsible for the coordination of care for the patient and family as they move across the continuum.

 Job Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Collaborates with health care team to assist in the assessment of the patient/family throughout the patient’s care. Takes call for any issues that may occur after hours and on weekends.
•    Completes nursing assessment of the patient/family including biological, psychological, age appropriate developmental, environmental, cultural and spiritual needs in an organized manner.
•    Collaborates with the health care team to develop a plan of care based upon the nursing assessment
•    Formulates, implements, and documents individual teaching plans based on patient/family assessment.
•    Uses teaching strategies suitable for the learning ability of patient/family.
•    Demonstrates consistent positive interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, families, and visitors to generate a feeling of trust and caring.
•    Coordinates, organizes, and supports all activities by accepting 24 hour availability 7 days a week.
•    Acts as a liaison between the department and other institutions
•    Maintains professional standards by participating in inservices, professional development, and keeping informed of Hospital/Departmental communications as evidenced by in-service rosters.

Skills & Requirements:
•    Bachelor's Degree in nursing or One of The Following:
o    Associate degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement (see comments below) or an associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license. 
o    Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
o    Or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN. Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
•    RN - Lic-Registered Nurses Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact Required 
•    BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support American Heart Association Required 
•    3 year's Experience in Nursing Required
•    Pediatric experience preferred
