We are searching for a Research Nurse - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will coordinate, direct, and implement management outcome research projects in the various clinical and non-clinical institutions of Texas Children's Hospital.

 

This position is Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm! Late stay and weekends not required.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, screens, enrolls and evaluate patients that participate in a research study.
  • Schedules study visits and meetings related to studies.
  • Collects study specimens and check subjects’ vital signs.
  • Administers study medications.
  • Follow subjects’ progress including by phone and MyChart and advises the Principal Investigator.
  • Maintains patient charts and medical records.
  • Ensures the clinical studies are conducted in accordance with guidelines of the FDA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Educates patients in significant aspects of study.
  • Serves as a liaison and distributes research information to faculty, research staff, principle investigator, and others as required.
  • May assist in developing the clinical trial agreement.

 

Skills & Requirements

  • Required bachelor's degree in nursing or associate degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or an associate degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license, or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN. Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
  • Required RN - Lic-Registered Nurses Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
  • 1 year experience as an RN
