We’re searching for a Technical Staff Assistant — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will Maintain computer inventory in a timely and accurate manner. Reconcile all inventory discrepancies. Maintain accurate and organized filing systems for inventory transactions. Under general supervision, performs a variety of moderately difficult technical support functions, which may include work on specialized projects or programs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinates the activities for maintaining the IS storeroom inventory.
Verifies that storeroom is adequately stocked to meet IS business requirements.
Keeps the storeroom neat, clean and orderly.
Completes purchase requisitions pertaining to the stock and supply of the inventory room.
Reconciles purchase requisitions with Materials Management.
Disseminates inventory and parts ordered to various entities of Information Services.
Maintains vendor repair and warranty work orders.
Responsibility C: Provides a variety of moderately complex technical support.
Coordinates the activities regarding RMA’s (Return Materials Authorizations).
Coordinates the activities for retiring obsolete and broken computer equipment.
Utilizes customer service skills while providing support to all levels of end-users.
Maintains software library and documentation.
Performs other job-related duties, as assigned by the supervisor.

Skills & Requirements

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
Required H.S. Diploma or GED
Preferred technical diploma technical or vocational education in a computer-related field
Preferred 2 years' experience in an inventory control environment
