We are searching for an ECMO / ECLS (Extracorporeal Life Support) Specialist — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support in an age-appropriate manner for patients ranging from neonates to adults.

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
RCP from the state of Texas
CRT-NPS preferred
Registered Respiratory Therapist
2 years’ experience in neonatal or pediatric critical care experience require
Perform direct patient care by implementing, operating, and managing the ECMO/VAD system
Set up a support system according to case preferences and age appropriateness and complete the pre-pump checklist before the start of ECMO, 100% of the time
Ensure that pump team supplies, and equipment are readily available at all times
Perform accurately, the QC of all analyzers daily, as outlined by policy and procedures
Complete Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) for all analyzers (Medtronic ACT Plus)
Provide clinical instruction and in-services on ECMO and related topics to other team members
Documents all patient care related activities according to policy and/or guidelines in a legible manner or via the electronic documentation system
