We are searching for a Clinical Nurse Coordinator! We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will manage daily clinical and personnel activities for the department and coordinate the delivery of high-quality, family-centered, and developmentally appropriate patient care.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for the daily care coordination of patients within the area of clinical subspecialty
  • Utilize evidence-based nursing interventions during clinical visits, telephone encounters, and electronic communications  
  • Determine which standards of care and practice apply to the patient and communicates this information to other health care team members
  • Assists the coordinators in providing education to patients, families, communities, and other hospital/medical staff concerning various aspects of care
  • Coordinates nursing care across various departments and subspecialties through effective communication
  • Ensures an accurate, current, and comprehensive database of all subspecialty patients is maintained
  • Acts as a patient advocate in maintaining communication and promoting continuity of patient care within departments, multidisciplinary teams, and referring/community physicians
  • Supports staff in the development of their schedules and monitors the effectiveness of the process on staffing needs

 

Skills & Requirements

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

2 years’ RN  experience

RN -License-Registered Nurses 

American Heart Association Certification-Basic Life Support 

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associate's Degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement (see comments below) or an associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license or Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement (see comments below) or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN. Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required

NEW HIRES AND TRANSFERS FROM TCP/TCU OR HP/HPC EFFECTIVE 4/1/19: New hires, current TCP/TCU employee, and HP/HPC employees who enter the role effective 4/1/19 require either (1) a bachelor's degree or (2) an associate degree or technical diploma with current enrollment in a BSN program and a signed agreement to obtain a BSN. TRANSFERS FROM TCH/TWS/TPG EFFECTIVE 4/1/19: Current Texas Children's employees already in RN-required jobs who enter the role effective 4/1/19 require either a bachelor's degree in Nursing, an associate degree in Nursing or an associate degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license, or a Technical Diploma in Nursing. EMPLOYEES IN THE JOB PRIOR TO 4/1/19: Current incumbents who were in the job prior to 4/1/19, require either a bachelor's degree in Nursing, an associate degree in Nursing or a Technical Diploma in Nursing.
