Texas Children’s first health care location in Austin, Texas Children’s Urgent Care West Gate, opened in March 2018, providing high quality pediatric-focused care after hours and on weekends. There are now more than 10 Texas Children’s Pediatric primary care practices in the greater Austin area bringing world-class pediatric services to children and their families. Our Specialty Care Center in Austin includes a multidisciplinary group of pediatric specialists committed to providing comprehensive care across a wide spectrum of services, including allergy and immunology, cardiology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, pulmonology, neurology, and more. Texas Children’s also plans to build a 360,000-square-foot freestanding hospital for children and women, set to open in 2024.
Our thoughtful expansion into Austin will help support a pediatric population of more than half a million and keep kids healthy and happy from birth to adulthood.

Summary:
We are searching for a HR Community Specialist — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring alignment between business operations and HR practices and objectives. The role is responsible for using experience, data analyses, and organizational agility to guide decision making. The role provides consulting and coaching to Executive and Senior leaders in order to support the business's vision, mission, and overall objectives. This position is also responsible for delivering a comprehensive and client-driven people service, aligning both talent management and operational strategies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Serves as a strategic partner and provides effective operational services and advice to executive and senior business leaders to support the delivery of organizational objectives and outcomes.
Serves as a consultant on HR-related programs and policies, often encompassing all areas of human resources. Acts as an employee champion, leadership coach, strategic partner, and change agent.
Partner with other HR Learning and Leadership Development to create and execute learning strategies and programs.
Translate the business/function strategy into long- and short-term talent plans, which consider the organization’s leadership, capability, cultural, and structural development needs.
Plays a strategic role in the direction of the talent management function in the business by utilizing appropriate diagnostic measures and data-driven decision making.
Facilitates effective implementation of new talent management initiatives in different departments and levels of the business as appropriate.
Conducts research, and consistently develops and enforces HR procedures and policies. Analyzes and reports on KPIs and trends related to human capital in the business and uses
Maintains a clear and detailed knowledge of the industry trends and best practices.
Supports the retention of valuable employees by implementing efficient talent management practices within the business leading to employee satisfaction.
Skills & Requirements
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
Required Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related discipline. Preferred Master's Degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related discipline
Preferred PHR - Cert-Prof in Human Resources Human Resources Standard Institute. SHRM-CP (Human Resources Standard Institute). SPHR - Senior Prof. Human Resource Human Resources Standard Institute. SHRM-SCP (Human Resources Standard Institute)
Required 5 years' experience in Human Resources as Generalist and/or Business Partner OR 2 years' experience in one of the following areas: Employee Relations, Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, or Compensation AND 3 years experience in healthcare operations or administration (not to overlap with the required experience in Human Resources as a Generalist and/or Business Partner)
