Summary:

We are searching for an ECMO / ECLS (Extracorporeal Life Support) Specialist — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support in an age-appropriate manner for patients ranging from neonates to adults. Think you’ve got what it takes?

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
  • RCP from the state of Texas
  • CRT-NPS preferred
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • 2 years’ experience in neonatal or pediatric critical care experience require
  • Perform direct patient care by implementing, operating, and managing the ECMO/VAD system
  • Set up a support system according to case preferences and age appropriateness and complete the pre-pump checklist before the start of ECMO, 100% of the time
  • Ensure that pump team supplies, and equipment are readily available at all times
  • Perform accurately, the QC of all analyzers daily, as outlined by policy and procedures
  • Complete Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) for all analyzers (Medtronic ACT Plus)
  • Provide clinical instruction and in-services on ECMO and related topics to other team members
  • Documents all patient care related activities according to policy and/or guidelines in a legible manner or via the electronic documentation system
