Job Summary:

We are searching for an Registered Nurse, Inpatient - Renal/Pheresis someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family-centered principles and cost-effective care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Associate’s degree or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement required
  • RN license from the Board of Nursing of the State of Texas required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • 1-year professional nursing experience required
  • 1 year of acute dialysis experience preferred or PICU

Responsibilities:

  • Collects and analyzes data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care
  • Discusses the patient’s plan of care with family and/or significant individuals and documents in the medical record as appropriate
  • Determines which standards of care and practice apply to the patient; coordinates and communicates this information to other health care team members, in order to meet patient needs
  • Implements and individualizes plan of care based on nursing assessment, reflecting the bio-physical, psychosocial, developmental (age-appropriate), cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs of the patient/family
  • Evaluates and documents patient’s response to the care provided and recognizes the patient’s progress toward meeting the desired outcomes and discusses with the patient/family
  • Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients/families, visitors, peers, and other health care team members
  • Demonstrates appropriate delegation and prioritization skills related to patient interventions and therapies
  • Acts as a resource in educating new employees and other members of the team to ensure the delivery of quality patient care
