Summary:
We are searching for a Manager of Accounting, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide support to the Controller in planning and directing an accurate, timely financial reporting process and directing the work of the professional and clerical staff.
Skills & Requirements

Required bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business. A master's degree in accounting, finance or business will substitute for two (2) years of experience
Preferred CPA - Cert-Cert Public Accountant Texas State Board of Public Accountancy
Required 5 years' experience in public or operational accounting
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develops, monitors and maintains financial accounting and reporting processes for all IDS entities including reviewing journal entries and comparing financial statements and financial ratios to prior periods and budgets. Determines causes for fluctuations and communicates those verbally and in writing in accordance with the close schedule.
Directs monthly account reconciliation process to ensure that all accounts subject to review are reconciled and that adjustments are proposed promptly.
Coordinates external and internal audit processes by scheduling, coordinating work paper preparation, meeting with auditors, and coordinating responses to inquiries for information.
Participates in leadership of department by coordinating training activities for staff, assuming an active role in the management team meetings and activities and assisting in the decision-making process for departmental issues.
Assists in the development of IDS financial policies and controls to ensure that all regulatory reporting requirements are met by the mandatory deadlines.
Ensures the ongoing development and review of departmental policies and procedures by coordinating revisions with appropriate staff, monitoring progress, reviewing necessary changes with other members of management team.
