Summary:
We are searching for a Medical Assistant -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will gather information, assess, and provide direct care to patients.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
BLS certification required
CMA-AAM, RMA, or EMT certifications preferred
1 year of related experience preferred
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
Responsibilities:
Provide way finding, general assistance and customer service to TCHP members and families
Assist with the collection of patient/family data
Provide general patient care
Schedule appointments
Collect Specimens and Perform Laboratory Test
Demonstrate commitment to team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills
Inform families of services available within The Center (pediatrics, OB, pharmacy, vision, dental) and contacts appropriate departments to assist families
Assist in the collection of patient/family data that may include biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information per practice protocol
Assist provider, as directed, during treatments, examinations and testing as directed by provider and within scope of practice
Demonstrate ability to use judgment when scheduling provider’s templates
Perform and document scheduled quality control, instrument maintenance and calibration procedures according to manufacturer information
Serve as a patient/family advocate while caring for patients and collaborating with other health care team members
