Summary:

We are searching for a Human Resource Technician, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting and who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. 

In this position, you will provide administrative and secretarial support to the Human Resources department.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
•    Greets employees and provides general human resources information that is accurate and in accordance with Texas Children’s policies and procedures.
•    Refers employees to appropriate Human Resources staff member for further assistance when necessary.
•    Provides general administrative support.
•    Answers phones, appropriately directing calls or assisting caller when possible, providing information which is accurate and in accordance with policy and procedure. Provides necessary follow-up, with focus on customer service.
•    Maintains adequate inventory level for all materials used in HR New Employee Orientation by working with Learning Academy Coordinator, other team members, and outside vendors. Orders supplies as needed and within budgetary constraints. This includes items such as Orientation binders, Service with HEART pins and t-shirts, compliance brochures and magnets, etc.
•    Monitors HR Training and Development supply inventory for team members, coordinates necessary supply orders, and ensures that an adequate inventory is maintained 100% of the time. This includes items like course handouts, course evaluations, name tents, flip charts, markers, tape, etc.
•    Conducts inspections of all Training and Conference Center equipment, including tables, chairs, electronic equipment, etc. according to schedule. Immediately notifies manager regarding missing or damaged items.
•    Sorts, date stamps, and distributes mail for team members within 4 hours of receipt, 95% of the time.
•    Coordinates the transport of outgoing mail to the Meyer building basement with other HR support staff.
•    Participates actively on teams and/or projects.
•    Provides technical expertise with a variety of software programs so as to assist team members with presentations, development of course material, general communication needs or promotion of special events.
•    Identifies opportunities to increase participation and involvement of HR team members and self by promoting team and departmental initiatives and following all established ground rules.
•    Collaborates with HR team members to continually evaluate the needs of the HR Conference Center customers and implement improvements as needed.
 

Skills & Requirements
•    Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
•    High School Diploma or GED Required 
•    2 Years of administrative/office experience required
o    Human Resources experience preferred
