There are now more than 10 Texas Children’s Pediatric primary care practices in the greater Austin area bringing world-class pediatric services to children and their families. Our Specialty Care Center in Austin includes a multidisciplinary group of pediatric specialists committed to providing comprehensive care across a wide spectrum of services, including allergy and immunology, cardiology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, pulmonology, neurology, and more. Texas Children’s also plans to build a 360,000-square-foot freestanding hospital for children and women, set to open in 2024.

Summary:

We are searching for a Senior Systems Analyst -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will have a major role in developing solutions by investigating processes to understand data and communications flow with individual tasks and transactions within the organization’s Integrated Delivery System.

Qualifications

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
•    High school diploma or GED required
•    8 years major system design and implementation experience required
•    Bachelor’s degree will substitute four years of work experience. Master’s degree will substitute for two years of work experience
•    Up to two years of clinical patient care and/or clinical research experience may substitute for up to two years of information systems experience on a month-to-month basis
 

Responsibilities
•    Translates users’ needs into detail requirement specifications
•    Investigate alternative solutions including feasibility studies using results from vendor analysis/evaluations
•    Facilitates and supports the system installation through the implementation cycle
•    Develop, schedule and facilitate test plans for software, network, integration, user acceptance and parallel usage
•    Facilitates design analysis with users to determine configuration for the user interface
•    Analyzes clinical use of existing systems to identify problem to be resolved and defines system applications or process improvements
•    Coordinates the upgrade schedules with vendors and/or users across the Integrated Delivery System
•    Recommends process changes as determined from risk and failure points in the processes evaluated, with necessary modifications to workflows and/or current procedures to maximize the advantages of existing systems
