Summary:
We are searching for an Imaging Informatics Analyst — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide for continuity of clinical operations for all computerized information and imaging systems in the Department of Pediatric Radiology including, but not limited to, Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS), Voice Recognition System (VR), and other PACS integrated systems. To conduct the day-to-day operations of the systems, including performing daily maintenance, reporting, and utilities. Provide technical support, documentation, and training to all staff using these systems and train DI staff, Radiologists, Hospital physicians and other Hospital staff.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures department workflow from examination scheduling, acquisition, and reporting through enterprise image access and viewing. Directly assists users to resolve problems with application use
Provides technical support for hardware and software problems, interacting in person and via telephone
Assists the radiologists with timely interpretation of imaging exams
Responds to service requests in a professional and expeditious manner, as observed by supervisor and medical staff
Analyzes use of existing systems to identify and resolve problems by asking probing questions to determine problem
Communicates at the user’s level of expertise. Listens and responds to user's request.
Follows the established chain-of-command with all communications within the Department
Provides one-on-one training with the user as needed
Consults with vendor support as needed. Documents problems and solutions in service log / the help desk software
Provides on-call coverage as assigned, and documents service requests received during on-call hours in service log / the help desk software
Frequently (tri-hourly at the minimum) checks all unverified studies, system queues, and performs troubleshooting appropriately. Checks functionality of system hardware
Monitors and confirms functionality for examination archive and web distribution processes. Performs visual checks for backlogs in destination or archive queues, error logs
Frequently monitors the health of the PACS, RIS, and Voice Recognition systems, any interfaces and integrated system to these information systems, as well as backup systems, mini-PACS systems, 3D-processing systems, Peer Review / Critical Value Reporting systems, and other plug-in applications to the PACS systems
Analyzes, conducts, implements, and controls system design, configuration, and modification of Pediatric Radiology information systems
Database Integrity and System Security. Performs application maintenance activities
Coordinates activities and information dissemination and Assists with Informatics Service Vendors and Other Support Areas
Assists Other Informatics Team Members and Participates in Special Projects
Participates in the Professional Development of Oneself and Others
Skills & Requirements
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
H.S. Diploma or GED
Preferred RHIT - Cert-Reg Health Inform and TECH. PROF MGM - Project Management Professional in project management, computer systems administration, and/or imaging informatics would be a plus
Required 5 years information systems experience in a radiology department or medical setting
A bachelor's degree in computer science, system management, or other related field may substitute for four years of related experience
