Summary:
We are looking for a Security Technician, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position, you will provide for an effective electronic security system of access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV and to support the Security Services Departments efforts to provide a secure environment of care for Texas Children's Hospital.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Plans and Installs Security Systems:
Plans, performs and programs the security system to accommodate new security installations and relocations of access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.
Completes programming, device verification and commissioning of all system controllers as required.
Interfaces security system with the TCH network through formal contact with IS personnel to insure the two departments are working in concert to achieve network connectivity of the security system.
Interfaces security systems with the TCH Fire System through formal contact with Facilities Operations personnel to insure the security system are in compliance of governing codes at all times.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Troubleshoots problems with staff and contractors to ensure proper operation of the security system.
Adheres to safety standards, local and national fire and security codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and contractor safety.
Performs security system installations and relocations, and preventive maintenance on security systems equipment such as security panels, card readers, doors, cameras, transmitters, receivers, recorders, and multiplexes.
Provides regular scheduled maintenance as required by necessity i.e. (batteries replacement), as well as other devices that are known to fail at certain time intervals.
Troubleshoots and repairs security equipment and systems.
Performs regular system inspections to correct deficiencies and trouble indications.
Responds to emergency service calls as necessary.
Perform demand and scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs to the Security Services electronic systems.
Provides assistance and guidance to technicians.
Conducts technical and trouble shooting training for technicians.
Inspects technical work completed by technicians.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintains proper documentation of equipment included in the security system.
Conducts training of technicians as well as supervision of security system utilization.
Maintains up to date drawings and electronic files of all systems.
Maintains maintenance records.
Provides reports as requested of installations, relocations, preventative maintenance, and repairs by location and cost.
Maintains comprehensive records of installations, maintenance, and service conducted on security systems.
Ensures accountability of assigned tools and equipment. Complete inventory to be completed NLT December 1st each year.
Maintains inventory of equipment, tools and repair and replacement parts.
Replaces CCTV hard drives and component parts to insure video recording accordance with departmental policy.
Customer Service:
Responds to routine and emergency radio traffic.
Immediately reports security, safety, and hospital customer service issues to appropriate personnel.
Provides training in security system use as directed.
Skills & Requirements
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
5 years experience in installing and maintaining access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems preferred
