Summary:
We are searching for a Supervisor, Milk Bank Services - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll coordinate storage, preparation and delivery of human milk products to hospitalized infants. You’ll also oversee daily Milk Bank operations and ensure compliance to quality guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
• High School Diploma or GED
• Four years of experience working in a milk preparation room or milk lab
• Knowledge of basic supervisory skills, excellent communication techniques, and proficient knowledge of human milk collection, storage, preparation, measurement, and sanitary techniques
Responsibilities:
• Coordinates employee schedule and assignments; adjusts work load of team as needed
• Manages part time hours and overtime to maintain equity for employees
• Maintains accurate employee attendance records
• Controls FTEs and overtime per budget requirements
• Maintains inventory log of mother’s own milk storage volume
• Communicates with parents delivering milk to the Milk Bank regarding status of mother’s milk inventory and to ensure quality standards for transportation and storage of mother’s milk
• Communicates with co-workers status of mother’s milk inventory and location where milk is stored
• Maintains approved par levels of Milk Bank supplies (including pasteurized donor human milk) by monitoring inventory, submitting orders, and ensure areas are stocked on a daily basis
• Communicates inventory shortages or special-order needs to Manager as appropriate to meet patient care needs
• Maintain, collate and report data from daily milk preparation records
• Assist with application, interview and hiring process by coordinating with manager and HR recruiter
• Responsible for orientation of new staff to all areas of the Milk Bank, serve as primary preceptor and coordinate orientation schedule
