Summary:
We are looking for a Leave of Absence Specialist, someone to administer the leave of absence programs and provide concise and accurate information to employees, leaders and vendors as a subject matter expert on policies, procedures and applicable laws for our various leave of absences. To provide consultative support for leave management issues that impact the overall operational strategy for the core business functions of the organization and ensure ease of access to leave of absence reporting deliverables for operational units.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Serves as a knowledge expert for leave of absence administration.
Identifies, coordinates and assists with creating internal training materials, communications and documents related to leave management.
Will assist in coordination of the internal administration of LOA, FML, and LTD claims for Texas Children’s Hospital with vendor input.
Builds and maintains an effective relationship with internal and external customers including TCH employees, vendor(s), HR, Information Services, Payroll and Benefits.
Maintains solid working knowledge and proficient understanding of policies, procedures and eligibility requirements for various TCH leaves of absences.
Maintains solid working knowledge of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).
Validates and forwards weekly LOA data file to vendor.
Work closely with HR and Employee Relations to address employee issues related to LOA, attendance and/or disability accommodation reviews.
Skills & Requirements
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
Required bachelor's degree Business Administration, Human Resources, or related discipline.
Required 2 years' experience in leave of absence, family medical leave, benefits, vendor relationship management, or employee relations experience
