Summary:

We are searching for a Manager Security Service-- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will support the Department Leadership by leading and directing all security personnel.  Ensures daily physical security operations, including the Security Law Enforcement, Security Administration, Security Systems, and Protection Force, are conducted in an efficient manner.  Enhances the hospital's security posture and ensures Joint Commission readiness and compliance with all state, local, and federal agencies in the context of team synergy and mutual managerial support.

Minimum Qualifications:

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

  • Required H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications Required:
    • PPO IV - Lic-Pers Protection Officer IV issued by Texas Department of Public Safety - Private Security Board, acquired within 6 months of entering the role
    • CHSS - Cert Healthcare Sec Supervisor issued by International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS), acquired within 6 months of entering the role,
    • TDR - Texas Driver's License issued by the State of Texas, acquired within 90 days of entering the role
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check demonstrating a clear driving record as defined by the routine driver qualifications outlined in the Texas Children's Fleet Safety Policy and Procedure
  • Must maintain a clean driving record
  • Must pass a Physical Fitness Test performed by Texas Children's Employee Health Services and/or an affiliate
  • 5 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience, including at least two (2) years in a formal supervisory role

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Protection Force, Law Enforcement staff, Security Support staff, Technical Team, and administrative personnel. Interacts with Security Officers (Law Enforcement) functions providing physical security for the campus. Provides appropriate briefings to Leadership regarding the physical security operation
  • Prepares and manages annual capital and operating budgets. Conducts security assessments related to the electronic and mechanical security systems that impact the Department.
  • Conducts security assessments and investigations of the TCH IDS involving criminal or civil activity and violations of hospital policies and procedures as it relates to the Department
  • Develops, manages, and conducts security training and standards for security and hospital personnel to ensure the Joint Commission’s environments of care standards are met
  • Oversees and implements special projects and event requests from various departments and committees
