Summary:

We are searching for a Referral Clerk -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will coordinate the referral process.


Think you’ve got what it takes?

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Two years’ experience preferred
Previous Healthcare experience highly preferred

Responsibilities:

Coordinates with Care Team (specifically Care Coordinators, Triage Nurses and Patient Navigators) to make specialty referrals and communicates to patient/family and Care Team accordingly
Assesses patient’s eligibility for referral by verifying coverage with payor prior to initiating referral
Initiates and processes referral
Assists patients, per practice protocol who have emergencies or have self-referred without prior authorization
Documents referral process
Maintains referral log, including documentation that patient with referring physician was notified, with 90% accuracy
Demonstrates commitment to team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills
Demonstrates the ability to problem solve, identifies appropriate resources, adapt to ongoing change, and handle conflict management with a professional and supportive attitude
