Texas Children’s first health care location in Austin, Texas Children’s Urgent Care West Gate, opened in March 2018, providing high quality pediatric-focused care after hours and on weekends. There are now more than 10 Texas Children’s Pediatric primary care practices in the greater Austin area bringing world-class pediatric services to children and their families. Our Specialty Care Center in Austin includes a multidisciplinary group of pediatric specialists committed to providing comprehensive care across a wide spectrum of services, including allergy and immunology, cardiology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, pulmonology, neurology, and more. Texas Children’s also plans to build a 360,000-square-foot freestanding hospital for children and women, set to open in 2024.
Our thoughtful expansion into Austin will help support a pediatric population of more than half a million and keep kids healthy and happy from birth to adulthood.

Summary:
We are searching for a Manager of Advanced Practice Provider Services — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide 24-hour accountability for the clinical, administrative, and human resources activities for Advanced Practice Provider Services. To practice in an advanced role and to coordinate the delivery of high quality, family centered and developmentally appropriate patient care within the designated service area.
*New employees will complete their orientation/training in Houston before the Austin hospital opens.

Job Duties & Responsibilities • Utilizes advanced practice knowledge and skills to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data, manages a caseload of patients, and ensures high-quality, cost-effective patient care. • Administrative Responsibilities. Participation in budget development and oversight. Hiring, counseling, PTO approval, performance review and OPPE responsibilities. Ensure coverage exists to meet the patient, division’s, and hospital’s needs. • Professional Grown and Improvement. Identifies, provides and/or creates opportunities for advanced practitioners to grow professionally, as reflected in annual performance appraisals, documented educational opportunities and development plans. Identifies, facilitates, and participates in Performance Improvement projects that enhance patient care delivery systems and/or family satisfaction. • Identifies, facilitates, and participates in Performance Improvement projects that enhance patient care delivery systems and/or family satisfaction. • Develops and prioritizes service-based goals which support the APP service and are congruent with IDS strategic plan, as measured by direct observation. • Strives to achieve the goal of accreditation with commendation through the following: Ensures that Joint Commission requirements specific to your department are fulfilled but also understand the linkage between your department’s requirements and those of the integrated delivery system. Collaborates with colleagues in other departments to ensure all Joint Commission requirements are met.
Skills & Requirements
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
Required Master's Degree Nursing or bachelor's degree Physician Assistant
Required Licenses/Certifications: FNP - Cert-Family Nurse Practitioner license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing or NNP - Neonatal Nurse Practitioner license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Practitioner license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing or PNP-BC - Cert-Pediatric Nurse Practitioner license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing or PA - Cert-Physician Assistant license issued by the Texas Medical Board or NNP-BC - Cert-Neonatal NP license issued by the National Certification Corporation
Required 2 years NP/PA experience with a preferred 3 years of management/leadership experience
