We are searching for an Embryologist - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will carry out numerous laboratory procedures involving testing of and achieving pregnancy in infertile couples through IVF, IUI’s, micromanipulation and other related reproductive procedures. You will also be responsible for providing input into policies associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs Specimen Processing (Semen Analysis, Sperm Washing for IUI/ IVF and Cryopreservation) according to standard operating procedures with the highest regard to quality, efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Performs Intra-cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) in the least traumatic way possible. Tasks specific to ICSI include Hyaluronidase and assess eggs for maturity, daily embryo examination, and if necessary, take daily embryo photographs
  • Ensure that specimens received from the patient are labeled and placed into the incubator
  • Carefully document all tests and procedures on all patient test reports and patient logbooks. When appropriate, include pictures or additional commentary on test reports
  • Freeze Embryos/ova in plastic straws and store in canes that in turn are stored in a Liquid Nitrogen storage tank
  • Review QC and QA data at the end of each month. Address any problems with the manager and/or other members of the laboratory immediately
  • Accept or reject culture media intended for embryology use based on established in-house threshold ranges
  • Maintain lab supplies ensuring that appropriate materials are always available


  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Medical Technology or general sciences field required
  • 3 years Andrology and/or Embryology experience required
