We are searching for a Bio-Medical Equipment Specialist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform preventive maintenance and repair on the most complex and demanding medical equipment, systems, and networks. Involvement includes performance improvement, design, installation, modification, custom interfacing, special projects, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs Equipment Inspections
  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed
  • Provides project support as needed
  • Provides Leadership, Training and Instruction
  • Effectively utilizes departmental resources
  • Review, Update, Correct, and/or Create PM Procedures for Equipment within the assigned area
  • Documents and records daily work in appropriate systems
  • Performs Incident Investigations
  • Provides performance and quality improvement support
  • Attends various meetings providing relevant information as necessary
  • Other Essential Departmental Function


  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
  • Preferred H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 12 years’ experience in servicing Biomedical and/or other electronic service equipment in a hospital, industrial or military setting
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology may substitute for four (4) years of the experience requirement. An associate degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology may substitute for two (2) years of the experience requirement. Relevant US Military Education may substitute for two (2) years of the experience requirement.
