There are now more than 10 Texas Children’s Pediatric primary care practices in the greater Austin area bringing world-class pediatric services to children and their families. Our Specialty Care Center in Austin includes a multidisciplinary group of pediatric specialists committed to providing comprehensive care across a wide spectrum of services, including allergy and immunology, cardiology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, pulmonology, neurology, and more.   Set to open in 2024, the North Austin Campus will be a 52 bed, 365,000 square foot hospital for children and women.The hospital and its 170,000 square foot adjacent outpatient building will be designed, equipped, and staffed exclusively to provide care in more than 25 areas of specialty care for children and women. Summary:

We are searching for a Manager of Operations (Facilities) -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide leadership and support to the various teams responsible for the departmental operations, support services, maintenance, and cleaning of the facilities.   To provide a safe comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors through effective resource management, maintenance programs, and processes that support quality patient care, education, and research. 



Responsibilities :

  • Plans, implements, and manages the technical, administrative, and financial aspects of assigned building, plant, and/or functional areas of the facilities Operations department 
  • Ensures the reliability and functionality of all facility assets and services, as evidenced by a Quality Control Program 
  • Makes recommendations for staffing requirements by analyzing space/ equipment considerations, productivity requirements, industry benchmarks, and established work metrics 
  • Maintains an adequate number of competent staff utilizing the targeted selection process and effective scheduling methodology 
  • Ensures equipment is maintained and services are performed in accordance with the standards established by the Department, Hospital, federal, state, and local agencies.  Ensures all required inspections and certifications by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) 
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for responsibilities, customer service, and professional behavior through personal work ethic, teamwork, and effective communication skills 
  • Ensures all equipment and supplies required for departmental services are available and maintained in optimum operational status 
  • Participates in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures within the Department to ensure the provision of safe and effective services  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director or the Assistant Director 


Qualifications:

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption 
  • Required H.S. Diploma or GED, preferred Bachelor's Degree with supervisory experience in facilities, healthcare, business management, or another related capacity 
  • Licenses/Certifications: Preferred CHFM - Cert-Cert HC Facility Mgr and Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) 
  • Required 4 years of experience in facilities, healthcare, or business management field, and a preferred 4 years of supervisory experience in facilities, healthcare,  business management, or other related capacity a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of the required experience
