We are searching for a Medical Assistant II - (OB-GYN) -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide patient care and excellent customer service in the ambulatory setting. You will also assist in the coordination of flow and provider schedules to effectively manage patient care.

Responsibilities :

  • Responds to customer questions w/prompt information related to appointment status, wait time or unanticipated problems
  • Participates in planning optimal patient flow by monitoring provider schedules and communicating potential or actual problems
  • Documents pertinent information in the medical record such as current immunizations, allergy status, vital signs, current medications, etc
  • Follows institutional and departmental policies and procedures regarding waive testing, quality controls (QC's), instrument calibrations and maintenance, etc
  • Processes lab specimens and performs tests. Reports results as written in applicable policies and procedures
  • Cross trains and assists with clerical duties as requested
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities and environmental round inspections


Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical diploma from a medical assisting or emergency medical technician program preferred
  • Health care experience preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • CPR – Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
  • Front/Back OBGYN experiance preferred
