We are searching for a Staff Attorney -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will support the Director, Assistant Director and Risk Management Department in providing legal counsel and guidance on various healthcare related issues, interact with state and federal agencies as appropriate, provide counsel regarding contractual agreements, work with and serve as a liaison to outside counsel, participate in meetings and serve on committees as appropriate. You will also lead and support on other matters as assigned by the Director.

Responsibilities :

  • Provides legal counsel and guidance including written legal opinions and memoranda to management and staff, as directed 
  • Researches, investigates, and remediates legal and corporate compliance issues
  • Assists with management of litigation docket, as directed
  • Prepares, reviews, and revises insurance provisions within contractual agreements for the organization
  • Researches applicable laws, rules and regulations that impact daily operational processes within the organization
  • Provides legal counsel and guidance in relation to Worker’s Compensation issues
  • Provides assistance and works with other attorneys in the department and organization on various projects


  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
  • Juris Doctor Degree required
  • License to practice law in the state of Texas required
  • 2 years attorney experience required
  • Litigation experience preferred
