Summary:

We are searching for a Financial Disbursement Specialist I -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will act as the liaison between Financial Disbursements and key business owners to identify needs and develop resolutions.  Performs time management-related functions by entering, validating, communicating, and analyzing timecard data.  Assists in the ongoing implementation of business processes and special projects.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborates with internal core stakeholders, leadership, and peers to identify system issues and process needs
  • Identifies system or application needs
  • Conducts analysis of current business practices, user needs and workflow processes
  • Documents the current as-is & to be business processes
  • Supports key strategic initiatives in projects and new processes
  • Works with clients and leadership across the organization to understand their unique needs related to time capture and payroll processes. Leads requirement-gathering workshops or facilitates meetings to better understand the departments' goals
  • Makes recommendations to standardize, improve, or redesign processes to meet business needs and coordinates with process owners to finalize requirements
  • Maintains functional processes by following established departmental policies and procedures, workflows, and departmental goals
  • Creates and maintains process procedures. Communicates procedures and serves as the subject matter expert on timekeeping procedures and policies for the department
  • Provides ongoing support and training of systems
  • Assists with system enhancements and upgrade testing to remain knowledgeable of the most current application available as well as provides feedback on improvements needed
  • Reviews, prioritizes, and distributes logged issue/incident tickets
  • Participates in the development and execution of action plan strategies to ensure effective integration of data
  • Initiates timely contact with stakeholders/end-users to follow up on open items
  • Responds to complex inquiries from customers, providing necessary support or documentation in an appropriate and timely manner


Qualifications:

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
  • Required H.S. Diploma or GED with preferred Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Operations field
  • Required 3 years payroll, Timekeeping, Accounts Payable or Financial Disbursements Experience preferred 1-year payroll, Timekeeping, Accounts Payable or Financial Disbursements Experience in a Healthcare Environment
  • An Associate’s degree may substitute for 2 years of required experience and a Bachelor's degree may substitute for 3 years of required experience
