Summary:

We are searching for a Manager of Accounts Payable-- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide support to the Assistant Director in planning and directing accurate and timely accounts payable functions, to direct the work of the professional and clerical staff, to work with Texas Children's departments to address issues related to payment processing and to work with Texas Children's departments to develop more efficient procurement and payment processes.

Responsibilities :

  • Develops, monitors, and maintains accounts payable processes for all Texas Children’s entities. Reviews process logs of staff development and maintains benchmarks for staff performance measures. Ensures that all the department's key controls are executed to ensure the accurate processing of accounts payable and related functions. Communicates the activities and results of the accounts payable department to departmental and organizational leadership, when necessary.
  • Provides customer service by responding to employee and leader inquiries in a timely and accurate manner. Oversees customer service functions of all workgroups to ensure we maintain satisfactory feedback from peers, leadership, personal responses, and survey results.
  • Ensures the maintenance of, identifies, and implements enhancements to, the systems supporting accounts payable processes while working closely with stakeholders in Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Finance functional support. Directs monthly queue volumes to ensure that all trade payable accounts are properly expensed and that adjustments are proposed in a timely manner.
  • Directs the implementation and maintenance of the electronic invoicing process with Texas Children’s vendors.
  • Participates in the leadership of the department by coordinating training activities for staff and stakeholders, assuming an active role in the management team meetings and activities, and assisting in the decision-making process for departmental issues.
  • Maintains an adequate control environment through the ongoing development and review of departmental policies and procedures by coordinating revisions with appropriate staff, monitoring progress, and reviewing necessary changes with other members of the management team. Monitors the organization's compliance with accounts payable activities. Actively addresses audit remediation items by developing action plans and establishing a reasonable response period


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years’ experience in accounts payable, financial disbursements, or operational accounting
  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
