We are looking for a Manager of Information Security -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In the role of Service Owner, the Manager of Governance, Risk and Compliance is expected to have experience in managing third party risk management, Security awareness program, policy and exception management, experienced in automation of third-party risk management process, highly knowledgeable in HIPAA, PCI, NIST, JCAHO, HHS regulations and partner with Information Services clinical and business leaders in facilitating internal and external audits for Information Services.  In addition, this role will create, implement, and continually manage the organization’s information security Governance, Risk and compliance strategic plan and operational support to ensure consistent and effective protection, confidentiality, integrity and availability of confidential and proprietary information and information assets.

Responsibilities :

  • Allocates appropriate personnel and resources to ensure delivery of consistent, high-quality service
  • Establishes and implements short and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for the service that link to Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC)
  • Manage and automate third party vendor risk management
  • Manage Security Awareness Program by creating awareness to different security threats and ensure training for all employees annually
  • Manage and improve Policy and exception management process
  • Manage and represent Information Services clinical and business leaders in internal and external audits
  • Acts as a contact for their respective services for customers by seeking to understand customer needs, providing information, responding to inquiries, and resolving problems related to the Governance, Risk and compliance and educating customer on service
  • Leads in the creation and implementation of inter-departmental processes which function across the company and improve business functions’ efficiency and effectiveness
  • Leads Governance, Risk and compliance initiatives to achieve compliance to established policies and procedures



Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of ITIL Version 3 Foundation Exam preferred
  • 9 years information systems selection, implementation or support required
  • Management experience preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree will substitute for 4 years of experience
