We are searching for a Technical Applications Advisor -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will develop, analyze, and advise TCH IDS and/or IS staff on technical solutions as they apply to applications across the IDS. Review and provide advice on application requirements, application and processing architectures, and designs. Develops, amends optimizes and certifies application and system design of Integrated Delivery Systems. Responsible for the identification and resolution of the application information flow, the application integration, and the required infrastructure needed to support application requirements.

Responsibilities :


  • Support of vSphere, specifically vCenter and ESXI at versions 6.5, 6.7 or 7.0
  • Support of Windows 2012, 2016 and/or 2019
  • Storage integration
  • Building and deploying virtual machines (VMs)
  • Troubleshooting Windows and VMware environments
  • Troubleshooting of Windows core components such as IIS, DNS, GPOs, Security and Patching
  • Identify and recommend tools and technologies using best practices/industry standards to support the strategic direction and assist in deploying/supporting these technologies
  • Participate in meetings regarding systems analysis, system design, and vendor contracts
  • Develop documentation standards
  • Prepare documentation in compliance with standards
  • Support system operations by problem analysis and resolution development
  • Provides emergency support, as required, 24 x 7


  • Scripting experience such as PowerShell and PowerCLI
  • HPE Synergy knowledge
  • vROPS and Log Insight exposure
  • Base networking knowledge
  • Experience working in medium to large sized organizations


  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
  • Required H.S. Diploma or GED and with a preferred bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of major system design and implementation experience, Project management or project leadership experience
