Summary:
We are searching for a Certified Diagnostic Technician -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will perform radiological exams and perform technical laboratory tests and report results to providers.

Responsibilities :
Verifies patient and provider order per practice protocol
Positions patient using mechanical immobilization as necessary to obtain a clear film
Adjusts lead shields to protect areas and ensures all persons in the exam area are using radiation protection
Verifies with payor where the patient is to go for lab and documents per practice protocol
Directs patient to the approved laboratory if the specimen is not to be obtained in practice
Ensures the specimen is collected and sent per practice and lab protocol, if the specimen is to be sent to an outside laboratory
Performs and documents scheduled quality control, instrument maintenance, and calibration procedures according to manufacturer information
Maintains and prepares reagents appropriately and performs and documents required reagent checks, including monitoring of expiration dates
Takes appropriate action and documents out of control values per manufacturer guidelines
Troubleshoots and documents instrument problems and makes minor adjustments, when applicable, by consulting the instrument manual and the appropriate technical support service
Communicates any quality control issues, proficiency issues, and/or instrument failures to Lab Medical Director and Operations Support Leader as they occur
Assures results are received and the provider is notified of the result
Maintains CLIA licenses and Texas Department of Health requirements
Performs and documents scheduled quality control procedures according to manufacturer information, instrument maintenance, and calibration to ensure proper functioning according to manufacturer guidelines and corrective actions in response to failed proficiency testing surveys
Takes appropriate action and documents out of control values per manufacturer guidelines, troubleshoots instrument problems, and makes minor adjustments according to instrument manual guidelines
Communicates immediately any issues with quality control, instrument failure, or proficiency testing to the Lab Medical Director and Operations Support Man
Administers medication and immunizations as directed by physician per site protocol
Documents administration of medication and immunizations in the medical record per site protocol. Reports all errors
Qualifications:
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
HS. Diploma or GED
Certifications: MRT - Medical Radiologic Technologist
BLS - Basic Life Support
1 years’ experience as Radiology Technologist
